Fans have been left unamused this weekend after Gary Lineker jokingly referred Sheffield United to their rivals Sheffield Wednesday.
Viewers tuning into the first Match of the Day episode of the season might have picked up on the presenter making what might have seemed an error.
This left many Sheffield United fans in shock as they tuned into watch their team on the programme for the first time in 12 years.

Though it turns out to have been a deliberate joke after he had a Twitter exchange with a Blades fan earlier last week.
Social media user @philipbackhouse said: “So don’t forget it’s Sheffield United, United, The Blades or SUFC not Sheffield.”
Lineker replied back: “I’ve spent my whole life in football. Do you think for one moment that I’d make that sort of error? Wishing you well for the new Premier League season and what’s more, I think Wednesday might surprise a few people.”
