The Football Association have approved the club`s requested name change from Radcliffe Borough to Radcliffe FC from the start of the 2018/19 season it’s been confirmed.
All references to the Evo-Stik League North club in league and FA competitions will now be referred to as Radcliffe FC from the start of next season.
During the 2016/17 season, the Board reviewed on various aspects of the club.
The request was then made to the FA.
Since, Radcliffe is no longer a Borough, the club thought change was needed to the name.
Back in May 2016, the announcement of change was first made by chairman Paul Hilton at the end of season awards.
10 months ago a new badge was revealed which still has Boro as its nickname.
When news first broke of the rebranding, it got a mixed reaction. And judging by when news broke yesterday of the name change approval, it didn’t go down too well.
Take a look at that reaction on the next page.
