Every 18/19 Championship club ranked by visiting fans for best atmosphere

Visiting football fans have rated (by stars) the atmosphere at Championship grounds on the website footballgroundmap.com.

We have taken a look at and ranked all of the Championship teams’ average stars from poorest to best atmosphere.

Take a look at the countdown below:

A post shared by Dave Bullock (@d_bullock_) on

The number of visits by the users (of footballgroundmap.com) to the DW Stadium is 42,461, and the average rating is 2 and a half stars out of 5.

Wigan are one of the new sides in the Championship after being promoted and winning the League One title.

It will be interesting to see if the star rating will improve during the 2018/19 season.

23) BOLTON WANDERERS – 2 and a half stars

A post shared by Andrew Gibbons (@andygibbons79) on

The number of visits by the users (of footballgroundmap.com) to the Macron Stadium is 46,047, and the average rating is 2 and a half stars out of 5.

Bolton Wanderers managed to escape the Championship drop zone on the final day of the season.

22) READING – 2 and a half stars

A post shared by Daniel Hopper (@danielhopper_) on

The number of visits by the users (of footballgroundmap.com) to the Madejski Stadium is 44,974, and the average rating is 2 and a half stars out of 5.

Reading had a disappointing season, finishing 20th in the Championship. They finished 3rd the previous season!

21) IPSWICH TOWN – 3 stars

The number of visits by the users (of footballgroundmap.com) to Portman Road is 39,663, and the average rating is 3 stars out of 5.

Ipswich Town finished bang on middle of the table, 12th. Atmosphere wouldn’t have been great for the 2017/18 season after fans were rather bored of Mick McCarthy being at the club and wanted him out, which eventually happened before the season ended.
