The club said in a statement: Eastleigh Football Club is delighted to announce the new club badge which launches today. It is the focal point of a complete rebrand of the club’s identity off the pitch as we move forward into a new era of the club’s identity.
For the first time in the club’s history, the new circular badge features the clubs founding year, 1946, along with the historic Spitfire as a prominent icon. Having adopted the Eastleigh Borough Council badge in 1980, the club felt it was now the correct time to part ways with this design and conduct a club re-brand.
The club has worked closely with football brand expert, Christopher Payne, to develop the new brand. Following a nine-month consultation period, which included supporters, management and directors, today marks a new chapter in the club’s history.
A decision of this size required careful consideration, with all aspects being taken into account. The new identity will be used throughout the club and will be put into effect immediately.
Kenny Amor, Chief Executive, explained: “Implementing a new badge is a decision we have not taken lightly. We understand that we are just the caretakers of what is essentially the fans club.”
“In the many years we have spent at the club we have grown to love it as much as the fans so felt we were in a good position along with Christopher’s expertise to come up with a design that was both visually impressive but also in keeping with our club and what is important to it.”
“We gave Chris an outline of what we felt was important and briefed him on the history of the club. The very first design he came up with was ultimately the one we have chosen and we could not be happier with the outcome.”
“We feel this badge can be a great introduction to our 75th year and take us into the future with a brand we can be proud of, along with giving us control of our intellectual property.”
“The fans we consulted with have unanimously loved it so far and I hope when it reaches all the entire fan base they will feel the same.”
Tom Coffey, Operations Director, commented: “We can’t wait for Spitfires fans and players to wear the new badge. We feel the design optimises what the club is about, remembering our history whilst moving forward as we continue to grow on and off the pitch.”
“With progress being made both on and off the field, we believe this re-brand was the right step to take and we hope our fans share our excitement.”
“This decision has been spoke about for a number of years and we felt there was no better time to launch this than our 75th anniversary year.”
Christopher Payne, Badge Designer, said: “From the first meeting with the football club, I knew that this would be a great project to work on.”
“Eastleigh FC are a really progressive football club with great people in charge. Kenny and Tom told me about the history of the club and the Spitfire connection, and then they gave me a lot of freedom to create.”
“A lot of time, care, passion, and consideration went into designing this new brand, it has been an exciting process and the new brand will help the club stand out and progress. I am extremely proud to play a small part in the history of Eastleigh Football Club. “
Over the coming weeks, we will see The Silverlake undergo a re-brand with the new badge being implemented around the ground, along with the new badge taken pride on our new Kappa teamwear range which will be released shortly.
As mentioned, Eastleigh have given their fans a surprise with a ‘quality’ new club crest…
Great design. Excited to see it up and around the club once we are allowed to have fans in stadiums again. Well done guys, a brilliant design.

This is really interesting too, the designer of the new identity has put up a case study of how he created the badge and shows the different ideas he went through https://t.co/lE4xpaFuml

Looks very good. Always love a circular crest and done a job with this ? my only tiny comment would be on the font used which isn’t amazing (in my opinion of course!) but overall like it a lot
