Diego Maradona has been accused of making a racist gesture to football supporters during Argentina and Iceland’s World Cup match yesterday.
According to BBC reporter Jacqui Oatley, Maradona greeted some of South Korea’s fans before apparently producing a racist gesture by ‘pulling his eyes to the side’
Maradona not so cool now. Some South Korea fans just shouted “Diego” and he obliged with a smile, kiss and wave. Then pulled his eyes to the side in a clearly racist gesture. All of us who saw it are stunned.

Fellow sports presenter Seema Jaswal backed Oatley’s claims – made from inside the Otkrytiye Arena.
She said: “I’m sat right next to Jacqui and saw Maradona’s gesture.
“He should know better. The lads filming him were so excited to get a picture of him and that was his response. Very disappointing.”
The controversy doesn’t stop there with Maradona unsurprisingly.
He was snapped smoking a cigar the match on Saturday… during the “smoke-free” World Cup.
The Argentine legend, was spotted puffing on a fat cigar despite massive signs around the ground urging fans not to light-up.
He certainly doesn’t care one bit!
