‘Did Preston’s Milutin Osmajic just bite Blackburn’s Owen Beck?!’ – Tempers flare in Sunday afternoon’s Lancashire derby.
It boiled over on the 88th minute, Owen Beck ruffled by a challenge and reacted with a kick out, teammates of both sides ran in and the referee had a lot to sort out.
Blackburn’s Owen Beck cleared out Duane Holmes off-the-ball and was shown a red card. Beck couldn’t believe the decision, complaining he was bitten in the neck.
The result leaves Blackburn sitting 4th in the Championship table with 12 points from 6 games while Preston are 21st with 5 points from same games played and one place outside the drop zone.

That was the second red card of the game, with Preston going down to 10 men just before half time as Sam Greenwood lunged in on Lewis Baker, from behind and tight to the touchline.
No chance he was going to be able to win the ball there and referee Matt Donohue, strong enough for a red…

Preston midfielder Ali McCann on Sky Sports: “If you play so much of a game with 10 men it’s a great point but we had the better of the first half before the red.
“We could have nicked it at the end but it’s a good point. We worked so hard and you saw the character of the group.
“The manager has been great since he came in and hopefully we can build on this.”
Blackburn manager John Eustace on Sky Sports: “That’s what happens in local derbies, you can see that the kid has taken a big chunk out of his [Owen Beck’s] neck. Owen was sent off for the tackle, their lad has made a big scene of it, but it was harsh.
“There were a lot of cheap fouls and cards given against us. We are disappointed that we have lost Owen for three games. We will make sure Owen is OK.
“Lewis Baker is struggling, he has ice on his knee but it’s a derby and people put bodies on the line. We’re not going to complain about any challenges.
“We were both up for the game and stuck to our guns.”
Preston manager Paul Heckingbottom on Sky Sports: “I’ve just been told that there is a claim of a bite, we will have to wait and see what happens with that. We don’t want biting on the football pitch, that is not allowed.
“I’ve seen the Sam Greenwood foul and see why it’s a red, we just want consistency. I saw a far worse one in the Sunderland game yesterday which wasn’t a red card but I have no complaints.
“Listen, we are talking about incidents in a really good game. I would rather talk about football, it’s a good pont for us.”
