Birmingham City fans react to an official club tweet posted on Friday and it’s got plenty of people talking, but not for the right reasons.
A new third kit has been released by the Championship outfit, but it hasn’t gone down well, with many comparing it to Hull City, Ali G or a pumpkin.
It displays a tiger / zebra like pattern, yet the colours of it is a dark green and orange, raising many a question and to who thought it was a good idea to have it designed that way.
Introducing our third kit! 🟠🟢
The 𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 strip is available to buy in-store and online now! 👊

CLUB STATEMENT:
BCFC.com is thrilled to reveal a brand new, limited edition third kit to be worn during the current Sky Bet Championship season.
After launching home and away strips during the summer, Blues have now released a further strip which is on sale now both online and in-person at the Blues Store.
Stock is limited, so be sure to buy your exclusive item of Blues replica kit now to avoid disappointment.
Manufactured by Nike, the shirt – following supporter feedback – is embellished with tonal woven badge, embroidered onto the shirt meaning that wherever Bluenoses go the badge of the Second City is stitched into everything they do.
This sits side-by-side with the iconic Nike swoosh, as two of the game’s most recognisable logos continue to stand out from the rest.
Designed by the world’s leading footwear and apparel company, this statement piece jersey catches the eye courtesy of a state-of-the-art all over patterned front print composed of Safety Orange and Noble Green.
Signed off with an overlap ‘V-neck’ collar for style and comfort, the distinctive design is again a special make up composition unique to Blues, meaning no other Club in the UK will boast this particular design.
Made with the latest Dri-FIT technology and 100% polyester product, it also features a black side seam elasticated panel for an enhanced comfortable fitted look.
And, as part of Nike’s Move to Zero Initiative, the kit is made with at least 75% recycled fibres, which reduces waste and carbon footprint.
The limited edition third shirt will be available in Juniors and Adults sizes, with the latter being available in Nike’s ProFIT only. Due to the slim fit nature of this shirt, we advise supporters to check the size guide on the product page prior to purchase, and advise the shirt is tried on prior to any personalisation being added.
It is recommended that this exclusive item is not tumble dried and is washed inside out.
Kit pricing is as follows:
- Junior Shirt: £37.50
- Youth Shirt: £40
- Adult Shirt: £49.99
- Junior Short: £18
- Youth Short: £19
- Adult Short: £22
- Socks: £11
The new Blues Third kit is available from the Club Store and online.

Birmingham City have released this shirt on #FootballShirtFriday – an event in aid of the Bobby Moore fund for victims of bowel cancer.
On the day, people are encouraged to wear a football shirt to work and donate money to the charity to help beat bowel cancer.
Tottenham’s Harry Kane has been a key figure in helping push the cause and encourage fans to show their team colours at home, work or school.
England legend and 1966 World-Cup winning captain Moore died of bowel cancer in 1993.
His widow Stephanie set up the fund in his name alongside Cancer Research UK shortly after and it has gone on to raise nearly £30million.
England captain Kane said: “I never had the chance to meet Bobby, but every football fan knows about his achievements as a player and a leader.
“I’ll be wearing my shirt on Football Shirt Friday to honour his memory and raise money to help beat bowel cancer.
“It doesn’t matter who you support, just pick a shirt and get your mates and colleagues involved if you can. Let’s make Bobby proud.”
While wearing a kit, fans are being urged to share a selfie on social media using #FootballShirtFriday and donate some money to help.
To donate £5 to the Bobby Moore Fund text SHIRT to 70180 or visit the Cancer Research website
