They say the season should be made void to ‘align with the rest of non-league’.

Chief Danny Hunter put his club’s position, fifth, out of his mind when talking of this matter.

He recently told the BBC: “I don’t see how you can have promotion, play-offs or relegation.

“People have to accept things for how they are.

“Would we be a loser because we are in a play-off spot? Yes we would be, but there’s a worldwide pandemic. The one thing I’ve managed to do is keep my staff safe, keep them paid and keep them on board. That’s far more important than a play-off game.”

Ollie Bayliss also revealed: “In a letter to clubs, the National League say there’s no formal system to determine the final league tables.

“They mention three possible options to decide the season.

“Assuming that their ‘mathematical formula’ is likely to be ‘points per game’.

“Expunge all results, use current positions, use mathematical formula.”

He adds: “Even if the National League do schedule playoffs, the 2nd promotion place is only likely if League Two can finish the season. The EFL have indicated that if League Two isn’t completed, the 2nd National League promotion place could be jeopardised.”
