Charlie Austin launches a foul-mouthed rant at Southampton fans before deleting tweets in a bizzare spat on social media on Saturday evening.
The West Brom player made a point about people thinking before they post online, but then started calling Saints supporters ‘shit’ and called one a ‘cheeky cunt’ before later taking his posts down.
Like many footballers last night, he warned people and companies to think about the effect their posts had on others, in the wake of Caroline Flack’s death.

Austin, who departed Southampton at the end of last season following a four season spell where he scored 16 Premier League goals in 71 appearances, then started getting into a slanging match with many of his former club’s fans.
One fan wrote: “Difficult to get behind a striker who couldn’t run five minutes without huffing and puffing Chaz!
“Big mouth for a man who accelerates slower than a 50 tonne lorry on an icy slope. Blame the club that paid your wages and supports your kids instead of yourself. WHAT A ROLE MODEL”
Austin didn’t take too kindly to it, calling the fan a ‘cheeky cunt’ and saying the Saints’ fan base was ‘shite.’

Another fan then said that the forward has contradicted his initial point of calling Southampton fans ‘shit’, but Austin instead doubled down on his point.

The player soon after that deleted his tweet, probably feeling remorse for his actions, however by Sunday morning everyone had got his tweets and spread it over Twitter.
