Bournemouth star demands apology from referee John Moss for mocking him and teammates for where the club currently sit in the Premier League table.
The official was in charge of the Cherries’ league match at Sheffield United on Sunday afternoon, which the Blades ended up winning 2-1, leaving Eddie Howe’s side 16th and just two points above the drop.
Gosling believes Moss should apologise, branding the referee a ‘disgrace’ for saying ‘you’re having one’ in quite extraordinary claims.
The official allegedly mocked Cherries players over their relegation troubles and performance.
Gosling told the Bournemouth Echo: “The ref didn’t help. Giving soft fouls away and little comments to two or three of the lads didn’t help as well really.
“I thought it was very disrespectful what he was saying.
“It was just the little niggly ones and then the little sarky comments.
“The officials talk about respect at the start of the season and there was zero respect from Jon Moss on Sunday.
“I thought he was a disgrace. The comments that he made especially to me and one other player – talking about the relegation zone and ‘you’re still in the relegation zone’, ‘you’re having one’, ‘your team’s having one’ this and that and it was very, very disrespectful.”
When asked if the comments were made while the match was going on, Gosling added: “During the game, yeah.
“I think he should really come out and apologise because I thought he was a disgrace.”
It is understood Bournemouth are in discussions with the Premier League over the accusations made by Gosling.
The Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) – the body in charge of officiating in the Premier League – declined to comment when contacted on Monday.
Fans gave their reaction after finding out Bournemouth star Dan Gosling demands apology from referee John Moss for mocking him and teammates…
Having reffed games, given the amount of stick you get for 90 minutes for literally nothing, if Gosling can’t take a little bit back (I’m sure the Bournemouth players were hardly angels during the game!) then it’s a poor show!

Dan Gosling has embarrassed himself ask anyone who attended Bramall Lane on Sunday what Bournemouth players behaved like. Their antics were worse than anything we’ve seen for a long while..feigning injury, diving , kicking ball away, take your medicine & pipe down ???

Gotta feel for Jon Moss. Takes abuse like most referees every Saturday, makes one comment back and gets snitched on by Gosling ? #respect

Hahaha brilliant ? players think it’s okay to say whatever they want to the referee but whenever they respond they’re the bad guy… get a grip ffs

Players verbally abuse refs for 90 minutes game after game after game.. scream in their faces, shout and swear and berate them, spend the match trying to deceive them.. then a ref gives a little bit if gentle stick back to a player and they are a disgrace… Bloody primadonnas

Jon Moss has to be one of the worst referees in the history of English top flight football. He's unfit. Struggles to keep up with play which usually leads to him making terrible decisions. The fact he is being kept in the top flight highlights the ineptitude of the people in charge

Pot. Kettle.
If Dan Gosling & his teammates didn’t surround the match officials at every opportunity, then he may have a point.
Officials aren’t verbal punch bags, so treat people as you wish to be treated.
If you can’t take it, then don’t dish it out. https://t.co/uVQnfVgGHN

Do I think he's a good ref?
Not really! But FFS the amount of verbals players give officials and he's spitting his dummy out about that? ?
Grow a pair of bollocks Gosling & @afcbournemouth

He’s beyond useless can barely keep up with play and now this!

You watch how we will get punished and fuck all will happen to Moss.
— Longy (@paulwarsash) February 12, 2020
This has got to be a joke?
The whole Bournemouth team showed zero respect to over 30,000 paying public who paid hard earned money to watch a game of football, not their cheating & theatrics.
To a man, they should be embarrassed & ashamed of themselves.https://t.co/raxm3iCqCj

Referees shouldn’t be exempt from criticism. Good on him moss is a terrible ref
— Dan (@Daniely79) February 12, 2020
Wow! If these allegations are true, and I see no reason for Gosling to have made them up, this is disgraceful from a Premier League ref, or any ref to be honest! Interesting to see what happens now …. #afcb
