Today is once again one of the biggest days in the club’s 145-year history with the threat of liquidation and have their results removed and potentially have to reform in the non league areas of the English football pyramid.
Well this morning, Bolton Wanderers have learned the decision made by the court at a hearing on a winding up petition.
Last month, the Championship strugglers requested and got an adjournment for two weeks as there looked to be a buyer who is willing to clear the debts of a £1.2million tax bill.
The judge wanted a payment by TODAY to avoid a winding-up order, which would leave them facing administration and a points deduction or liquidation.
Nothing has so far materialised as well as players and staff not being paid their March wages, leading to the squad striking for 48 hours this week.
Yesterday, Safety Advisory Group (SAG) withdrew Bolton Wanderers’ stadium safety certificate, which meant the club would not be able to play their home games against Ipswich on Saturday and Middlesbrough next Tuesday.
WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR AND WAS EXPECTED?
– Ken Anderson’s lawyers to argue a deal is close to completion
– According to the Bolton News, Gaspard Holdings Ltd, a local company in set up in Bolton, have claimed to have had an offer to buy the club accepted
– Bolton News’ Marc Iles said “sense another adjournment might be the best case scenario”
WHAT HAPPENED AT COURT?
