Barnsley left fans laughing as they unveil a bold new home kit for the 23/24 season with six stars and a US Mobile sponsor across the front.
The League One side’s new home strip is mostly red at the top before white gradient towards the bottom, and a nod to the 1989/90 kit they used when Shaw Carpets was the sponsor.
Three white stars have been placed either side of the front above the chest, with the Barnsley crest is placed in the centre of the chest with a white Puma logo beneath it. US Mobile is the shirt sponsor logo in the centre.

CLUB STATEMENT:
Barnsley Football Club is proud to announce an exciting collaboration with renowned designer Colm Dillane from Kid Super and Director Julie Anne Quay, in partnership with Puma, our official athletic partner.
Drawing inspiration from the rich history of Barnsley FC, the design process began with an in-depth exploration of the club’s badge, previous shirts, and overall heritage. Among the various iconic kits throughout the years, the “Shaw Carpets” kit from the 1989/1990 season stood out for its distinctive appearance and significance as Barnsley FC entered a momentous decade.
In the spirit of honouring the past while forging a new path for the future, special attention was given to Toby Tyke, the club’s beloved mascot. As part of this exciting collaboration, a new badge and colour scheme were introduced for the third kit, which also features Toby’s face subtly integrated into the side panel.
The newly unveiled kits proudly showcase the club’s traditional colours of red, white, and black, complemented by accents of gold to symbolise the stars of Barnsley. The design process involved meticulous consideration of every detail, aiming to pay tribute to the club’s rich history while propelling it into a new era.
The essence of Barnsley FC’s spirit is encapsulated in the club’s ethos of “Winning is Being Barnsley.” It represents the core values of authenticity, determination, and resilience that define the club. Being true to who we are at all times, with muck, nettles, grit, and backbone, is at the heart of our identity. Understanding ourselves and bringing that essence to the world is what it means to be Barnsley.
“Winning is Being Barnsley” transcends distinctions between fan and player, staff and sponsor, board and backroom. It is a unifying force that can be felt by anyone associated with the club. It is this indomitable spirit that we have strived to capture in the design of our new shirts.
The Men’s First Team will proudly feature the logos of our front of shirt sponsor, US Mobile, and back of shirt sponsor, Parliament, prominently displayed on the kits. Barnsley FC Women’s team will showcase the VFiles logo, emphasising our commitment to supporting women’s football. Additionally, both teams will proudly wear the logo of Rapid Response Telecoms as the back of shorts sponsor. These sponsorships reflect the local roots and global reach of Barnsley FC in the contemporary world.
Furthermore, we are thrilled to announce that the KidSuper logo will serve as our sleeve sponsor for the 23/24 Emirates FA Cup. This partnership showcases our shared commitment to innovation, creativity, and pushing boundaries.
To celebrate the launch of the 23/24 season kits, a captivating photo shoot was conducted, featuring team members from the men’s team, the academy team, and our women’s team were photographed in the newly renovated changing rooms at Oakwell and at the Elsecar Heritage Centre.
Joining them were local stars Holly Tandy, a Barnsley FC fan and former X Factor UK contestant, and Tom Clare, a former Reds youth player and recent contestant on Love Island, and players from our Reds in the Community Ladies Academy – showcasing the inclusive and community-oriented spirit of Barnsley FC.
The unveiling of the 23/24 season kits marks an exciting chapter in the history of Barnsley FC. The club is grateful for the support of its loyal fans, partners, and sponsors and is eager to kick off the new season in style with these remarkable kits.
The 23/24 home kit is now available to pre-order via our Reds Superstore. Standby for details of how to purchase our away and third kits.
Stay tuned for the release of the 23/24 Goalkeeper kits.
