There was an awkward moment Ed Sheeran is politely asked to leave after gatecrashing the interview Ruben Amorim had with Sky Sports.
The 33 year old singer-songwriter, who is a minority owner of his hometown club and watched the newly-promoted side draw 1-1 with the Red Devils at Portman Road on Sunday evening.
After the Premier League fixture, Amorim was speaking with the Sky Sports pundits following his first match in charge of Man Utd.
I’m honestly a bit aghast at how rude that was from Ed Sheeran. Amorim should have told them all to get fucked pic.twitter.com/Hjm0VWovdF

Kelly Cates, Roy Keane, Izzy Christiansen and Jamie Redknapp had been putting the questions to the Portuguese coach.
But then Ed Sheeran comes in, disrupting the interview, Sheeran giving Amorim a short wave before hugging Jamie Redknapp.
Cates said: “Ed Sheeran has come to join us. Ed we’re just chatting to Ruben Amorim who may not want to talk to an Ipswich fan.
“But from an Ipswich perspective it was almost perfect,” referencing the song “Perfect”.
Sheeran: “I love it. I love being back in the Premier League.”
Cates: “We’re really glad to hear from you,” then Redknapp says to Sheeran: “You gonna come and say hello in a minute?”
Sheeran shook hands with Redknapp then sheepishly walked out of shot, smirking as he made his way.
Cates: “Thanks very much, Ed.”
Ed Sheeran has since taken to social media to apologise to Ruben Amorim, writing in a post on his Instagram story: “Apologies if I offended Amorim yesterday, didn’t realise he was actually being interviewed at the time, was popping to say hi and bye to Jamie.
“Obz feel a bit of a ******* but life goes on. Great game though, congrats to all involved x”.
Joey Barton saw the video and tweeted: “What a joke @SkySportsPL has become. Imagine Ed Sheeran interrupting Sir Alex?
“The standard of broadcasting is a joke.
“Not watching to listen to women footballers and cock eyed, ginger dickheads with club top’s with their initials on.
“We want to listen to the serious football people. Ruben Amorim’s first after match interview about the mountain he has to climb to get United back to the top of the English game.
“And silly bollocks (JR) is cuddling and gushing over his famous friend as the Manchester United manager is mid flow.
“What a joke.

Ipswich fan who got in confrontation with Roy Keane reveals what started the row
Twitter users reacted to the awkward moment Ed Sheeran is asked to leave after gatecrashing the Ruben Amorim interview…
@jdklfc: Imagine Ed singing and Amorim comes on and gatecrashes the gig. Same engery.
@andy2005: Anyone else find this whole Ed Sheeran weird love in thing abit boring now?!
@ClancyNeil: Looking at Keano, if Sheeran were to somehow end up dead in the next week, we have a prime suspect.
@HughJanus_80085: I don’t think it was him, this was set up by Sky Sports. The cameras must have panned to him 7/8 times during the game. It’s all about him instead of the Ipswich players and manager who are doing an unreal job. It’s pathetic from Sky tbh.
@TheoCartz: Embarrassing from Sky as always!! Disrespectful to the gaffer. Mid way through interviewing him for the first time. I’d boycott talking to them in future!
@Chipsricefood: Unprofessional from sky sports
@Amorim_BaII: Imagine letting a pop star interrupt an interview with a coach. Gets his face on the screen every Ipswich game
@1SamRafferty: This was embarrassing from Ed and Sky. Can tell Amorim was pissed off.
@LeeJamescord: Just disrespectful if anything
@Alonosi: As much as I hate Man Utd, this is disrespectful to the coach
@Robin_W_1: Why did you let him?
@luckyNomnom: Cringe
@RubensRedArmy_: Disrespectful to my manager, APOLOGISE NOW
@creek_david: Ed Sheeran isn’t that great to me as he is clearly to himself. My facial reaction is like Roy Keane’s.. just go and be an idiot somewhere else.
@blakeleyjono: I’m genuinely baffled this has been allowed to happen. As someone who has an aspiration of working in sports media, I simply can’t get my head around how unprofessional this is. Both Sky & Ed Sheeran need to issue an apology to Ruben Amorim & Man Utd
@A_Pount: Shocking and the presenter welcoming it, pathetic.
@jaymeeteewhu98: Honestly? What has Sky become? Would’ve been better if at that point Amorim walked away. You can tell he’s pissed off by the interruption.
@PuddinGRK86: Amorim should have walked away at that point. Sky sports has become so unprofessional, especially on “Super Sundays”. Imagine if Keane was the manager at that point. He’d have just dropped the mic and told them to get fucked
@ClydeBhoy: Amateur hour, totally unprofessional and may i say a tad disrespectful when interviewing a manager 🤔
@TheGreenDevil20: Knobhead, Amorim should crash his concert
@JLadlow8: That is piss poor from you guys!! Very unprofessional especially when you’re interviewing managers.
@adam_couser: Can’t help but think this is insanely disrespectful.
@chrisymurph: What a knobhead he is. Crashing an interview like that. It’s not about you right now
@johnaokane: A fucking disgrace from Sky and even Redknapp acknowledging the twat , who arranged for him to be there when a manger is speaking ..
@davidinsley68: It’s all down to Sky. They make such a big thing of ES being a town fan. Must have focussed on him in the stand a dozen times during the game. Like a load of star struck kids.
