Last night, anger at a Southern League match postponement 15 minutes before kick off after Yate and their supporters made the 9 hour round trip to Truro.
Their game passed a 12pm pitch inspection, leaving both teams and the supporters expecting the game to go ahead without worry, only to find out that it was called off.
Truro away, Tuesday night, half day taken from work. 12pm pitch inspection passed. 5 hours on a coach after no more rain, same ref calls the game off at 19:30pm ??♀️??? got to love non league football @SouthernLeague1 pic.twitter.com/5QsuAqrhpo

Both teams express how much they were looking forward to playing the game yesterday, stating no concerns with the pitch, before giving the dreaded update at 7:33pm.
Game called off by the referee… Pitch seemed very playable when we had a look at it!

Truro said on their social media: “Those who purchased tickets at the can have them refunded or you can keep hold of them for a future fixture.”
As mentioned, both Truro and Yate fans were left in anger at the very late Southern League postponement, see what was tweeted below…
it's so illogical to call an inspection at 12 o'clock, tell everyone it's safe to start their journey, and then the referee has the power to call it off minutes before kickoff.

Wow! Tad late

That's horrendous!

Unbelievable!! Really feel for those that made the long journey for a midweek game – officials and league Fixture organisers need sorting out – can they be fined?? They would be the first ones to fine a club for trivial little issues.

That is disgraceful and lazy by the officials. Why couldn’t another inspection have taken place at 4, 5 or 6pm? The picture of the ground looked fine 20 mins ago.

Shame on you Ref, the truth will come out , it always does, safe travels home Yate

I'm in Devon at the moment, and to be fair it has been heavy showers all day. And parts also had snow over night. Surprised it wasn't called off at mid day!!!! Poor decision making!!

Plymouth Argyle delayed their kick off 30 minutes due to the earlier traffic accident in Plymouth so why didn’t our ref? Didn’t look much wrong with that pitch to me, poor decision!! I was pee’d off & only live 10 mins away!!

Bet Yate are delighted ?
