Aldershot player sidelined for months due to injury from Ribena bottle

Aldershot Town midfielder James Rowe has been sidelined for several months after he picked up an injury – from a Ribena bottle.

The National League club have had a horrid amount of injuries this season so and it got even worse when the former Southampton, Reading, Forest Green, Tranmere Rovers and Cheltenham player dropped a bottle of the fruit drink on the floor and then accidentally stood on the broken glass.

Aldershot Town assistant manager James Rowe spoke more about the player’s injury: “James is a long-term one and he’s nowhere near coming back at the moment.

“It was a freak accident at home unfortunately, I believe. It’s going to be months rather than weeks he’s out for. It’s hopefully not going to be [the rest of the season] but it is a serious one.”

 

Another recent injury story that got people amused this week was involved a young Lancaster City player was left embarrassed after he fell for a hilarious steak prank by one of his teammates recently.

18 year old Tom Preston picked up an injury on Friday but with a game coming up the following day, the youngster took to get some advice from what he thought was physio Neil Coomber, however it turned out to be the wrong number and in fact midfielder Rob Wilson.
